Keyboarding
Students learn keyboarding skills that will help them with many future opportunities. Students will learn how to correctly type to improve their word per minute speed, as well as their accuracy.
Current Events
Students will discuss the events happening around them in today's world. They will discuss local, state, and national news, they will share their opinions, and ask the questions they do not know.
Advance Computer
Students will further their computing skills by working with Microsoft Office. Students will also learn basic research techniques including source citing, footnotes, and bibliography creations.
Intro to Tech
Students will be introduced and taught how to use different forms of technology including Smart Boards, Elmos, Video Cameras, etc.
Digital Photography
Students will learn how to properly take digital photo, edit photos and create a variety of projects using a photography program. They will also be in charege of photo taking for many different school events.
Orff
Students will create a percussion ensemble using xylophones and other percussion instruments.
History of Rock& Roll
This course will take students through the ages from the birth of Rock and Roll to the rock bands of today.
Team Sports
This class will provide students with the opportunity to learn the rules and regulations and participate in various team sports
Cardio Fit
This class is all activity. The goal is to learn different aspects of a variety of cardiovascular workouts.
Health
The student learns that actions have both positive and negative consequences. Problem solving skills and strategies prepare students to make healthy lifestyles choices. Eventually, the student can integrate his/her knowledge and understanding of health related issues and makes a commitment to a healthy life-style, all the while living in response to the call of Christ Jesus who the "the way, the truth and the life."
Study Skills
Students will learn different techniques to help them with homework and tests. They will be able to discuss with other students their different ideas, and learn ways to help themselves.
Sculpture
Sculture will be explored in this hands-on class. Clay, curled paper, and wire are just a few of the mediums students will use.
Strength Training
This course seeks to improve your balance, increase your core stability, and challenge your present muscular strength and endurance. There is a strong emphasis on using proper form and on establishing a workout routine.
Beginning Band
Students will learn the band instrument of their choice.
Elementary Spanish I
This course seeks to introduce the JR High student to beginning Spanish, in an effort to begin second language instruction at an earlier age, thus increasing the opportunities for fluency and grammar proficiency in high school. This first course will introduce basic vocabulary by topic, as well as basic communicative phrases.
Endurance Training
This class will include stretching and warm-up drills. the class seeks to improve running from and efficiency, as well as overall cardiovascular health. this class is an opportunity for students to train and prepare for the Becky Zibbel 5K Memorial Run.
Water Colors
Students will be introduced to a variety of painting techniques from dry brush to sponge painting. Each student will create and mat several landscapes.
Musical Theatre
Students will have an overview of musicals: past and present. Students will also perform in the spring musical.
